If you are a newcomer living in the Sussex area, or if you are moving here REGISTER with MAS now!

Client intake form (please fill out and email to t.thorne@mas-nb.ca) FORM

  • Register with MAS and complete a needs assessment to determine a settlement plan tailored to the individual's needs

  • Connect with services and ethnocultural groups within the community and province

  • Guidance with housing search, banking, applying for Medicare, SIN, driver's license, and etc.

  • Enroll in language classes

  • Providing social and community connections via activities - Workshops on life in Canada, understanding taxes, buying a home, etc.

  • Enroll children in school

  • Pre-arrival services and connecting with the community before coming

  • Employment services (we offer one-on-one mentoring, multiple workshops to enhance skills, connect with employers, connect with Working NB, post secondary education and credentials evaluation)

  • A wide range of information and orientation sessions to promote settlement and assist newcomers in navigating life in Sussex and in Canada

  • Weekly/Monthly activities and groups

  • If applicable: assistance with 14 day quarantine plan and grocery delivery

  • Resume writing workshops

  • Connecting with RELI, PETL and other programs

 Information and orientation

  • Presentations on life in Canada and life in Sussex

  • Workshops on completing taxes, understanding RRSPs, tax benefits and more

  • Information sessions about safety, laws and responsibilities, Canadian Culture, healthcare, community involvement, buying a home, and more

  • Understanding governmental programs and assistance with navigating government services.
